Clothing Distribution
We made our first shipment of clothing in July 2020 and had two distribution days in August. This is where the ladies of the community were invited to come and select what they needed for themselves and their children. Although the turnout was good, the team in Jamaica discovered that there were some women who were unable to come to the distribution location - it was done at Maranatha Christian Church - to receive the help they so desperately needed.
Trade Winds Citrus Ltd. (St. Catherine, Jamaica) and Shekinah Trading (Kingston, Jamaica) made multiple generous donations to the community members of Waterhouse during these distribution days at Maranatha Christian Church in 2020.
The plan going forward therefore, is to have persons on the team take what is needed out to these ladies about twice monthly or as the need arises. The room used for distribution has been named ‘Missions of Virtue's Closet’ and clothing racks will be sourced in the near future to ensure easier access to the items available and a more pleasing presentation.
