2018 Women’s Conference

Concept: Adorned in Beauty
All things bright and beautiful, including all ladies, were made by God. As we grow up, life happens and if we are not careful, scars us in such a way that we can no longer see ourselves as beautiful and worthwhile. We can, however, get past our past and be free to excel in the future.

Topic 1: The Story of Job, Our Story
The conversation opens with a bible story of a man, Job, who lost everything. Although the story ends well, we paused a moment in his dark days. Each lady was encouraged to write down the bad parts of her story; not to sit in them, but to see what she had survived. She was asked to face her anger and her disappointment with God, and then list the negative words she thinks, remembers, and still tells herself. Having pointed out that she is still here, the point was made that God has kept her for a reason. The challenge then, was to find positive words to tell her story and describe herself from now on.

Topic 2: Inner Healing
This was a spiritual exercise. Ladies were asked to acknowledge, confess and renounce all the incidents and traumas written in the previous session. They were also asked to choose to forgive persons connected to these happenings. This was to be an agreement with God that although these things happened, life did not end there and there is much more for them to do – they would refuse to be held hostage any longer by the memories and scars. The papers with our stories were carried outside and thrown into a fire prepared for that purpose. A corporate prayer closed that session.

Topic 3: The Adorning
Each lady was presented with a choice of necklaces. Once she had chosen and was seated, one of the leading ladies put the necklace around her neck, the gesture likened to being dressed for a wedding. This session was to remind them that they have a purpose, and are made beautiful. The conversation celebrated their strength, endorsed their potential and encouraged them to press on fulfill their dreams.

Conclusion:
The sharing of various stories encouraged ladies to go live their best life.
